Alabama
In 2021, Senate Bill 46 was passed in Alabama allowing qualified patients to use cannabis for medical reasons. However, the law only allows for limited medical use (CBD-Only/Low THC-Programs) in the state and has not yet begun registering patients or caregivers. Arizona
In November 2020, Arizona approved Adult Use sales which took effect in 2021. The pre-existing Medical Marijuana program is still in effect for those with a card issued by a licensed physician. Check your state laws for updates.

Delaware
Delaware has become the 22nd state to legalize recreational marijuana after Gov. John Carney allowed two bills to become law. Residents wanting to buy buds, hash, vape oil, or edibles might have to wait though. Because none of the 30 retail outlets authorized under this law can secure a license until at least September 2024.

As of 2023, the state of Kentucky passed legislation that made medical marijuana fully legal state wide. However, The actual implementation of the state program will not go into effect until the beginning of 2025.
Louisiana

Maryland
Medical Marijuana is legal in this state. In order to legally consume cannabis, patients must present a medical marijuana card issued by a licensed physician. Check your state laws for details. However, starting July 1st, 2023 individuals from out-of-state who are at least 21 years of age with government-issued ID will be permitted to purchase adult-use cannabis from licensed dispensaries in Maryland. Interstate transport of cannabis is still prohibited under federal law.

Michigan

Minnesota
As of May 30th,2023 possession for adults 21 and older will be lawful starting Aug. 1 with limits. It will no longer be a crime for Minnesotans to have up to two pounds of marijuana at their home and transport two ounces while in public. Minnesota legalized cannabis for medical use in 2014. Patients who are legal Minnesota residents and have been certified with one of the qualifying conditions are eligible to obtain cannabis

Mississippi
In November 2020, Mississippi approved a Medical Marijuana program. Check your state laws for details on how to obtain a medical card.
Missouri
Medical and Recreational Marijuana is legal in this state as of December 2022. On November 8, 2022, voters in Missouri approved ballot measures to legalize recreational marijuana, becoming the 21st state to do so. Recreational cannabis should be available in dispensaries sometime in 2023, in the meantime, in order to legally consume cannabis, patients must present a medical marijuana card issued by a licensed physician. In November 2020, New Jersey Dispensary approved Adult Use. RISE has NJ marijuana at Recreational Dispensaries in New Jersey:

New Mexico

New York
As of March 2021, then-New York Governor Andrew Cuomo signed legislation into law that effectively legalized adult-use marijuana in the state. Medical Marijuana is also legal in New York. Medical cannabis has been legally available in New York State since 2014 for eligible residents.

In 2020, voters in South Dakota came together to pass Initiated Measure 26 approving the use of medical marijuana in their state. Initiatives to legalize adult-use cannabis consumption legal have failed to pass however, making South Dakota a medical-only state.
