Payment

There are two ways to pay. We accept CASH payment and have ATMs available at our dispensaries. The ATM fee is $3.50. We also accept DEBIT CARDS. 

Legalization & Limits  

Recreational cannabis will be legal for adult- use and retail sales at Henrietta, NY location as of January 13, 2024.

  • Adults 21 years or older can purchase up to three ounces (85 grams) of cannabis flower and up to 24 grams of concentrated cannabis (oils, tincture, edibles, vapes, etc.) in a single day

How does Adult-Use Cannabis sales affect medical patients?   

Our dispensary roots are in supporting the well-being of our medical patients.   

How do I get a medical cannabis card in New York and become a patient?   

There are two steps to becoming a certified patient for medical cannabis 

• Get Certified. Contact your healthcare provider to see if medical cannabis may help.  Your healthcare provider will give you the certification if medical cannabis is appropriate for your condition. 
• Purchase medical cannabis. Visit a registered organization’s medical cannabis dispensing facility with your printed patient certification (or display it on your smart device) and a government-issued photo ID to purchase the product. 
• Registry- 
  • Patient Certifications now contain their registry ID. 
  • Removes the requirement for patients to file a registration via MCDMS. 
  • Patients don't have to wait for registrations to be approved. 
  • Lessen the time spent by RO dispensary staff assisting patients with registration. 
  • Allows patients to go directly from the certifying health care provider to the dispensary to purchase products. 
  • Plastic registry ID cards are no longer being produced. 
  • Temporary and permanent registry ID cards will no longer be issued. 
  • Existing registry ID cards remain active until the patient certification is edited, extended, or expires. 
  • Patients who need to change their name or address should contact their certifying healthcare providers to update their certification. 

If this is my first time to this RISE Dispensary store, what do I need to do?

Please bring your valid Patient ID card, government-issued photo identification, and cash or a debit card. All our stores have ATMs available on-site. If you have questions, we provide consultations in person. lo

How does a caregiver purchase a product for a medical patient? 

• Certified patients or their designated caregivers who are registered with the Medical Cannabis Program can purchase medical cannabis products from a registered organization's dispensing facility in New York State. 
• Designated caregivers who registered with the Medical Cannabis program before March 20, 2023 obtaining medical cannabis on behalf of their patients must bring their caregiver registry identification card and their patients' certification to the dispensary. 
• Designated caregivers who registered with the Medical Cannabis program on or after March 20, 2023 purchasing medical cannabis on behalf of their patients must bring their caregiver registry ID, their patients' certification, and a government issued photo ID to the dispensary.    
• Caregivers who registered on or after March 20, 2023 can download or display their registry ID document by linking their my.ny.gov account to their MCDMS registration. 
• Caregivers – Caregivers can download or display their registry ID document by linking their my.ny.gov account to their MCDMS registration. 
• Certified patients and designated caregivers must always carry their certification and registry ID whenever they possess approved medical Cannabis products or cannabis plants or seeds for home cultivation. 

Does RISE Dispensary NY offer delivery?  

Yes, for medical customers only

Does NY accept out-of-state MMJ cards?  

No  

Does insurance pay for medical Cannabis?  

No. Unfortunately, health insurance does not yet pay for medical cannabis.  

Do I need a medical card to purchase medical marijuana in NY?  

Yes.  

Do I need a prescription from a physician?   

• As of January 13, 2024, adult-use is available at RISE Henrietta, NY.,  
  However, obtaining a medical card could be beneficial as medical cannabis patients receive priority during shortages, have access to high potent products and are not subject to the 9% adult use sales tax rate.

• Adult-Use tax is higher in some counties. 
• You can possess and use cannabis at 18 rather than at 21 
• Higher allowance and possession limits. 

Is it safe to consume cannabis in New York? Where can I legally use cannabis? 

It is legal for adults 21 years or older to consume cannabis in a private home or in most places' tobacco can be consumed, except for consumption in a motor vehicle, a private business (such as a restaurant patio), a hookah or “cigar bar,” or on federal property. Since cannabis is still illegal under federal law, you can’t consume it on federal land, including national parks and national forests. New York recently passed a law that prohibits smoking cannabis and tobacco in all New York State Parks and other public outdoor spaces effective 10/13/2022.

Can someone help me get medical cannabis? 

• A patient may designate up to five (5) caregivers to assist in purchasing and/or administering their medical cannabis products for them. Caregivers may be added at any time after the patient is auto-registered. 
• Certified patients or their designated caregivers who are registered with the Medical Cannabis Program can purchase medical cannabis products from a registered organization's dispensing facility in New York State. 
• Medical patients – Must present their certification and state ID. 
• Caregivers – Caregivers can download or display their registry ID document by linking their my.ny.gov account to their MCDMS registration. 
• Certified patients and designated caregivers must always carry their certification and registry ID whenever they possess approved medical Cannabis products or cannabis plants or seeds for home cultivation.

How much medical marijuana can I buy and possess?

When and where will I be able to buy adult-use cannabis in New York?   

Starting January 13, 2024 customers 21 and over will be able to purchase adult-use marijuana at our RISE Henrietta, NY Location.   

How old do l need to be to purchase adult-use cannabis? What forms of ID are acceptable to enter a RISE location and purchase cannabis product?   

• You must be 21+ to enter a store and purchase adult-use cannabis. 

Acceptable IDs include: 

• a valid driver's license or non-driver identification card issued by the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles, the federal government, any United States territory, commonwealth or possession, the District of Columbia, a state or local government within the United States or a provincial government of the dominion of Canada; 
• a valid federal, state, or local government identification, including IDNYC, stating the individual’s age and a photograph of the individual’s face; 
• a valid passport issued by the United States government or any other country; 
• a consular identification card; or 
• an identification card issued by the armed forces of the United States. 

How much is the adult-use cannabis tax in New York?   

There is a 13% excise tax and 8% state/local tax, which will be reflected on a customer’s receipt. Note, cannabis products are also subject to a “THC tax” based upon the amount of THC milligrams in the product. This tax is not paid by the consumer and has already been factored into the purchase price. 

Will there be long lines at the dispensaries once adult-use cannabis is for sale to anyone 21 and older?   

We expect longer lines than usual, but we’re committed to ensuring an easy and enjoyable experience for our guests. We will have separate check-out lines for medical patients to ensure they have full access to the medicine they need once the recreational market opens.  

Are there any rule changes for acquiring a medical card?    

At this time, the State has not indicated any changes.  

Does RISE offer a Rewards program for recreational/adult use shoppers? 

Per licensing regulations, we are currently unable to offer a loyalty program (or discounts, giveaways, and price reductions) related to cannabis or non-cannabis products. We are diligently exploring alternative rewards and offerings that can be extended to our recreational/adult use shoppers.
