Florida Marijuana Dispensaries: RISE Cannabis
My first visit to RISE Dispensaries Pinellas Park was unforgettable. When I walked in, I was enthusiastically greeted by the front desk employee who checked me in and gave me basic intake paperwork to fill out.

Florida Marijuana Dispensaries
“While I have been a registered Florida marijuana patient for almost four years now, my first experience in a Florida dispensary is something I will never forget. I had never been inside a recreational or medical dispensary, so I was nervous about what to expect.
My experience getting a medical marijuana card was slightly different from an average patient because I was interning with a recommending physician’s office at the time. Yet, I was still intimidated and overthought the entire process. I did not know if I had enough medical documentation to prove to both the doctor and the state that I qualified for a recommendation to purchase products from Florida dispensaries.
Getting my Florida Medical Marijuana Card
Florida law requires a person to be diagnosed with an approved debilitating medical condition to qualify for a physician’s recommendation. While I am diagnosed with Post Trauma Stress Disorder (PTSD), Chronic Back Pain, and Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBS), I was not sure that it was documented well enough. The state approves all of those conditions; however, I still showed up to my appointment, sweaty from nerves, with my entire medical history from my time in the Army. I wanted to make sure that I provided the physician with enough proof that I suffered from these conditions and desperately needed help.
But after a few questions and a quick overview of my basic diagnostic paperwork, my physician decided that I met the state requirements and entered me into the Medical Marijuana Use Registry so I could apply for my state identification card. Once approved by the Department of Health, I was given the go-ahead to purchase products from Florida Marijuana Dispensaries! The overall process ended up being much easier than I was expecting. It left me excited and hopeful to be a qualified patient.
My First Experience at a Cannabis Dispensary in Florida
When I finally stepped inside the only medical dispensary that was open near me, I was greeted by an armed security guard and immediately felt like I was doing something wrong. After being intimidated, I was checked in and asked to wait in a waiting room where none of the employees acknowledged me. When I was called back onto the dispensing floor, there were a few employees behind a counter. None of them were capable of answering the majority of the fundamental questions I had about their products.
However, they could tell me which products would offer the most intense psychoactivity, and this was not the information that I was looking for. I was not treated as a legitimate medical patient at all, and the whole experience was overwhelming. I already felt as if I was doing something inappropriate because of the negative stigma attached to medical marijuana. The last thing that I needed was to feel even more intimidated coming out than I was going in. I was so taken aback that I considered never going back.
Becoming a RISE Dispensaries Patient in Florida
After a few months of lousy dispensary experiences, I was at an event in my community. I learned that RISE Dispensaries Pinellas Park opened up near me. I decided to give them a chance, which was one of the best things I have done as a Florida Medical Marijuana patient.
My first visit to RISE Dispensaries Pinellas Park was unforgettable. When I walked in, I was enthusiastically greeted by the front desk employee who checked me in and gave me basic intake paperwork to fill out. Right off the bat, I felt more comfortable than any other MMTC had made me feel until then. While I waited to be called onto the dispensing floor, I was asked by the employee behind the desk if I had any questions about their products or if I wanted any suggestions since it was my first time at a RISE dispensary location.
I was expecting to wait for at least fifteen to twenty minutes; however, I was called back into the dispensing floor after only a few minutes. The overall ambiance of the room was calm and inviting, and I was put to ease. Behind the counter were three more RISE employees who were personable and very knowledgeable, which was not something I was used to. They answered all of my tough questions about their products, and they gave me personal recommendations. For the first time, I did not feel like I was recommended products that were only high in THC, but instead products that made sense for my conditions.
Overall, it was one of the best experiences I have had at a dispensary, both medical and recreational, throughout the United States.
Unique Products Focused on Medicinal Relief
In addition to their outstanding customer service, RISE Dispensaries offers products that are medicinally focused. A lot of their competition in Florida seems to have a more recreational feel, emphasizing high-THC percentages, and strains that are bred for their psychoactive effects rather than their ability to relieve unwanted medical symptoms. RISE, however, has unique vertically-integrated product lines like Rythm, Dr. Solomon’s, Dog Walkers, and The Feel Collection.
RISE also puts a lot of focus on the other beneficial aspects of the cannabis plant besides THC and CBD potency – specifically on terpene profiles. Terpenes are the marijuana plants’ essential oils that aid in the strain-specific effects that are produced. Each terpene has medical properties and effects that, when combined, will create unique results for each individual. Every product available has a label that showcases the percentages of multiple cannabinoids and the dominant terpenes present in that specific batch. Throughout the past year, I have been able to try a few options from every line RISE offers.
Some of my favorite products so far have been:
Feel Dreamy from The Feel Collection
This tincture combines THC, CBN, organic chamomile, and spearmint. One dropper-full and within an hour, my whole body fully relaxes and drifts into a night of uninterrupted sleep. CBN, or Cannabinol, has been shown to increase THC’s intensity, so when mixed with chamomile, it is the perfect addition to your bedtime routine.
Terp Sap from Rhythm
Terp Sap is a cannabis concentrate, that is terpene-rich, sort of similar to distillate. While I am usually not a distillate fan, terp sap makes it high up on my list of favorite products from RISE. They are strain-specific, full-spectrum, full of flavor, and versatile. This Terp Sap is very versatile – it can be used to make edibles, dabbed like a concentrate, added onto flower, and even mixed into creams to make infused topicals!
Dogwalkers Pre Rolls
These Pre Rolls are at the top of my list of favorite products throughout the United States. This is because, with every purchase of a Dogwalker product, a portion of the proceeds are donated to organizations for dogs in every state they are sold. Another plus? These pre-rolls contain only premium cannabis, never trim, and are hand packed to ensure consistency.
&Shine All Purpose Flower
I just recently had the opportunity to try out this product, and I was impressed. &Shine All Purpose Flower is a half-ounce of lightly ground trim intended to brew teas or make edibles with. Since it is mostly the cannabis plant’s sugar leaves, it is not meant to be smoked, but it is priced affordably for making edibles. They even include a recipe card that explains how to make cannabutter in a few easy steps.
Ordering Made Easy During the Covid-19 Pandemic
Fast Forward to a year later, and RISE Dispensaries is still one of the best Medical Marijuana Treatment Centers I have been to in Florida. When the pandemic hit Florida, marijuana near me sold out fast. I was nervous about how I would be able to purchase products safely. Still, once again, RISE handled this very impressively.
RISE already had an established e-commerce option for patients to easily be able to shop online. They have partnered with IHeartJane to bring live inventory options to Florida patients, made with the consumer in mind, and easy to navigate. After placing an order online, you can get curbside service to maintain a safe distance from one another. It’s both a quick and straightforward experience that makes going out for essential products safer during this time.
Overall, my experiences at every RISE Dispensary I have been to has been remarkable. Between their brand selection and their knowledgeable staff, it is the perfect place for someone to get a product that fits their needs while feeling right at home.”
